My Son's Nursery

We lived in a two-bedroom Chicago apartment in Uptown. The second bedroom was fairly large and functioned as our guest room, so we converted this space into a half nursery and half guest room. This worked out perfectly when the grandparents visited because they were able to attend to the baby and give mom and dad a much-needed break.

We used a neutral color palette with accents of yellow. We already had the armchair and used that neutral tone as a base for the other elements. We got the Gelato crib in white and natural wood then layered it in gray and beige tones with a yellow gingham blanket. Some other decorative items included a sheepskin rug, a tufted ottoman, stuffed animals, and baby shoes (so cute)!

This space worked so well for playtime, feeding, dressing, and gathering. We had a happy surprise when my son turned 8 months, we found out we were having another baby. Fast-forward and we welcomed a second boy! It’s been a wild ride, and we quickly outgrew our apartment. Stay tuned for the revised toddler bedroom update!
